Don't worry, the next lyric does not apply. Confused? I'll tell you about the meaning of the Beatles song I'm quoting in the title when you're older.
Below is the before and after of a poster I created recently. Check out some of my other posters and advertisements here.
While making the Before poster, I got so caught up in trying this new width tool technique for drawing "Pix on the Plaza" in Illustrator that when it came to placing information, I completely forgot about hierarchy and good use of white space. My mind regressed to the autopilot days of getting information for ads in my University's Newspaper and just placing everything the client sent. "You want your life story in a 2x3 box? No problem." Hey, I was just getting into graphic design and I didn't want to change anything the client sent, even if they hadn't meant for everything they wrote to end up in the ad.
I digress. I now know better, but needed a reminder, so I'm glad my friend Kendra (over at the Hungry Raccoon) was willing give some insight to get me back on course. Her suggestions made all the difference!
